Bike and run routes

The Llangorse Triathlon bike route will take you from HQ on the common and into Llangorse Village, along the B4560 towards Bwlch, left and along the A40 then left and back on the A479 towards Talgarth and left at the roundabout and back along the B4560 into Llangorse.  You’ll repeat this loop and then turn back towards the common and HQ at the end of your second loop.

The run route is a mixture of trails, grass paths, boardwalk and a small amount of road.  You will run from the common and across the bridge to the west side of the lake, along the footpaths past the bird hide towards the church and retreat house.  At the church you will run up the lane and right into Pennorth before turning down to Ty Gwyn farm and down the footpath to the disused quarry.  This is one loop, you will repeat this twice and after three laps you will turn left at the quarry and back along the trails and over the bridge to the finish on the common.

    Hi there,
I am keen to sign upto this event but am concerned about the lack of entrants. Is it a small affair this year being your first year and do you have a minimum number that you require.
I do hope that it goes ahead as I think the area will be a spectacular route to race.
    Regards

    Simon.

    • Hi Simon. Thanks for your post. As this is the first year that we’ll be organising the triathlon and the swim, we’re not expecting huge numbers. We are able to take 200 entries to both events and we’re expecting to have between 100 and 150 for the swim and the same numbers for the triathlon. We’ll review numbers in July but we’ve had a lot of interest from people like yourself and local athletes from Hereford, Brecon and Abergavenny. We’re confident that people will also start to enter now that we’re getting some sun! We’re also starting a big marketing push this weekend so hopefully we’ll see more and more entries coming in. Best Wishes Nicola and Kylie
