Thank you swimmers and marshals

Thank you to everybody who swam, marshaled and supported today. We’ve already made a list of ways that we can improve for next year including staggering the waves more so the 1.5 swimmers don’t have such a long wait, more buouys, more cake (gosh you were all hungry) and a private changing tent. We are taking orders for t-shirts at £10 each. Please email us with the size you’d like and we’ll send you details of how to pay. Please let us know by Wednesday

Big Swim Weekend

Hi swimmers. We’ve marked the course and we’ll now be swimming in a clockwise direction to make sighting easier. Today the temperature ranged between 17 and 21 degrees across the course. All water tests were passed with flying colours and the water was crystal clear. Thanks to the Davies family we’ll be using the field next to the sailing club for parking, please follow the marshals when you arrive. Registration is between 2 and 3:30, please be prompt! We are able to accept limited entries on the day, please email us in advance – llangorsetri@hotmail.co.uk       Happy Swimming!

The Big Swim info

Hi swimmers.  We’re looking forward to welcoming you all to Llangorse on Saturday for the 2016 Big Swim.  We are sold out but we are operating a waiting list so if you’d like to take part please sign up via http://www.entrycentral.com  We’ll allocate places as people drop out so hopefully you’ll all get to swim.  You should all have received your information pack via email, if not the please let us know at llangorsetri@hotmail.co.uk

Registration opens at 2pm on Saturday at the sailing club and will close promptly at 3:30pm. Please arrive in plenty of time!  At registration you will be given your swimming hat and timing chip.  If you want to change your distance you can do so then.  Please try and share lifts if possible as parking is limited.  When you arrive at Llangorse please follow the signs and our parking marshals. There are changing tents and toilets at the start plus the chance to warm up following the briefing at 3:45.

The first wave of swimmers will enter the water at 4pm followed by waves every 5 minutes.  The start is 75m away from the entry ramp so you’ll have chance to acclimatise before your start. Please make sure that your wetsuits and swimming suits are clean and dry before you enter the water to avoid any contamination of the lake.

You will be able to get your time and wave place immediately after you leave the water and there will be hot drinks and cake on offer for as long as it lasts (and there’s a lot of cake!)Prize giving will be at 6:30pm at the sailing club and we hope that many of you will be staying in the village and making the most of the beautiful area.

Happy swimming and see you on Saturday – Nicola and the Llangorse team
